Cokaliong - MV Filipinas Ozamis

Cokaliong – MV Filipinas Ozamis

Why do most Iliganons travel from Cebu via Cagayan to Iligan? I am not saying all but most of the time they do. Am I the only one who observed this? Because even my classmates during college days prefer to travel via Cagayan City wherein, mostly they can voyage direct to Iligan City.

Some guys I ask over about it answered “Kay naa daw daghan chix sa Cagayan!” Lols. And some answered “It’s much faster!”.

True enough, there are actually a lot of beautiful girls you can chat within the ship via Cagayan and sometimes it’s much faster. But don’t ever mention TransAsia or else you’ll arrive 12 Noon. Hahaha!

However, for some reason, I would never travel via Cagayan. Why? Because first and foremost, it’ll cost you more and it’s very hassle especially when you have a load of cargoes. And besides, you have Gothong, Cebu Ferries and Cokaliong Shipping.

Lately, I happened to board the new vessel from Cokaliong Shipping Lines – MV Filipinas Ozamis. It is the latest ship of Cokaliong Shipping Lines and is the youngest inter-island vessel in the entire country today.

Yeah! I was one of the first who aboard on that ship. And my first impression was, it is FAST and I mean FAST and prompt. From Iligan to Cebu via Ozamis, we departed the pier in Iligan at exactly 4:00PM and arrived in Ozamis around 5:30 PM. We departed again at 8:00PM from Ozamis dock and arrived in Pier 1 Cebu as early as 5:00 AM.Wooohaa! I hope it will not degrade so soon.

Oh by the way, one thing I don’t’ like about Cokaliongs new MV Filipinas Ozamis ferry was their tourist accommodation. The beds are small and there was not enough barrier on the deck besides you. Ok lang unta if uyab or chix, unsaon kun kusog mo hagok bongoton pa! Haha..
